Help Build the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro – Featured in CNN’s “Unwelcome. The Muslims Next Door”

While brother Will’s post caused us all to think hard about the buying power of our brothers and sisters in Murfreesboro, and I admittedly shared “I was torn”. I was never “Torn” with the idea that the Muslims should leave; because so much was already invested: righteous time, money, efforts, and energy. After all, I’ve been working behind the scenes with my own Muslim and non-Muslim partners trying to figure out how we can financially support their efforts, and make this Islamic Center a reality.
However, I was “torn” because I kept thinking “to what extent?”
The same question CNN anchor Soledad O’Brien asked Sally Hall and Kevin Fisher when inquiring when either of them and their followers will stop proceeding with their unsupported, unsubstantiated case to halt the construction of this project.
True Value of the Muslim American Dollar
I have been writing about and supporting the American Muslim Consumer Conference since it’s debut year–but, I always question the motives and true intent of our Muslim brothers and sisters to think critically How WE spend our hard earned dollars, with Muslim Moms in social media having even more power.
“To what extent…” will the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro build?
I completely agree with the need for a bigger masjid, cemetary, recreational center for segregated activities, ample parking, Islamic library and resource center. I’m quite biased against an Islamic school, except after-school and weekend programs.
[If you're a newcomers to my site, I was an extremely active PTA volunteer of 4 Islamic schools (while I was an aunt, or community member--never a "parent", but I was many times more active than any "parent" in any of those PTAs), opened an academy myself (2008), I still hold strong that the most Ideal Islamic Educational System in America is Homeschooling and worldwide (1st-hour).]
- Since the majority of the project is necessary, funds must be raised to make it a reality, and
Let’s Build the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro
This is no longer a dream project for the Muslims living in Murfreesboro, TN–it’s for me, my family, my extended family, and all the Muslims living in America and abroad. My family has traveled all other the country and world, and we enjoy visiting some of the most beautiful masajid–but, love the run-down basements and attics as well.
My family has grown to appreciate and aspire to pray in the masajid (mosques) with history: from struggle and fortitude to success.
To me, this masjid just made our travel itinerary for the history that has already been established. The land is ours–now, it’s time to build the masjid!
99.9% of the funds were raised here in America for the purchasing of the land, our brothers and sisters are suffering so much overseas. So, let’s take ownership of this masjid, for all Muslims living in (or visiting) America today and those who follow, inshaAllah.
By donating you’re making history and affecting the future with Sadaqah Jariyah (Continuous Charity).
Support Selective Murfressboro Boycotts
Last, I wholeheartedly believe that our brothers and sisters must better evaluate where they spend their dollars throughout town. While it’s obvious that educated Muslims would boycott Sally Hall’s real estate services, and the services of the attorney; as the documentary showed there were large crowds actively fighting against the construction of the Islamic center. It is our right to be conscientious consumers to avoid them by all means possible.

I just watched “the muslims next door: not welcome” ON cnn with my DVR today. I have to say I am outright disgusted. Those people protesting against and comitting TERRORIST ACTS against these muslim people do not deserve to be in this counrty at all. THEIR opinions go against EVERYTHING the very fabric of what this society was founded on. These are the kind of people who embarass us REAL AMERICANS. Who support and defend what this country stands for! To all you out there standing up for your rights as an american…. good on you! You are the material that really makes this country what it is. To those of you that oppose these AMERICANS right to worship thier FREEDOM OF RELIGION SHAM ON YOU!!! maybe you should spend some time in China, Iraq, afghanistan, yemen see what its like to live without the freedoms you ‘supposevly’ cherish. What if someone told you tomorrow christianity is outlawed because timothy mc veigh was a christian and he commited a terrorist act. Or that catholics and protestants all over the world were commiting terrorist type acts. DOn’t judge lest ye be judged… and you call yourself christians HMPh!! Anyways I am off track I want to show my support of this particular or ANY people STILL fighting for thier freedom of religion. I wish I could be there to stand with you
perhaps one day we will all stand together.
