Top 50 Muslim Mom Blogs 2011

| May 17, 2011 | Comments (73)

Today we have the pleasure of sharing with you a list of the Top 50 Muslim Mom Blogs on the net! Mubarak and Congratulations to all these wonderful Muslim Mom Bloggers who made this esteemed List for 2011!

Ranking Determination

The blogs are listed by Alexa Ranking, a system which measures the trafficking to the website. The more traffic, the higher the rank. Here, we order the blogs according to Alexa rank because each website has its own specific number, as opposed to Google PageRank. Google PageRank is based on a 0-10 scale, 10 being the most popular (this high esteem is held by Google itself, in addition to a few other sites like CNN and Facebook, for they have the most sites linking to them and the most people visiting and consistently utilizing their sites). To read more about Alexa Rank and Google PageRank, visit this blog post.

All blogs had to have current posts. Having at least one post live within 7-days of our initial visit.

List Organization

In the spreadsheet below, you’ll find the

  • Name of the blog,
  • Blog url,
  • RSS link feed,
  • Alexa rating, and
  • Google PageRank.
  • the location,  and contact information of the bloggers (if made public)

You can directly subscribe to a blog’s feed through the RSS link, and the public contact information displayed makes for an easy e-mail or message to share your thoughts or ask questions.

Also, don’t hesitate to bookmark this page; you can come revisit it whenever you want to check out the other blogs with all their pertinent information.

Mubarak dear Tawakalt! Yes, many other Muslim mom bloggers are awesome, mashaAllah, but aren’t posting regular enough, or just starting out. Our intention was to make a top 100 list, but it took a ton of work to come to 50, we stretched pasted 25. But, with quality networking and support for everyone we can all grow individually and collectively, inshaAllah.

And, yes–welcome to dear intern Habeeba! ;-)

  12. Fozia says:

    Asalaam Alaikum!

Was such a lovely surprise when I opened the email this morning! JazakAllah kahir!

It is lovely to be on the list, I had just started my blog as a random thing!

    [Reply]

  13. Fozia says:

  14. Am I not Muslim enough? or not Mom enough to be on the list?? My Alexa ranking is 986,000.

    [Reply]

    Ponn Sabra Reply:

    Salam dear Hollie.

InshaAllah, you don’t feel slighted by this list. It’s not meant to be “exclusive” and I’m sorry if your blog was missed while compiling the list. I know you’re on my twitter feed…but, MashaAllah you are a wonderful Muslim Mom, your ranking deserves attention and your voice is widely accepted in the blogosphere!

I will make a disclaimer stating that it’s not the end-all-be-all list. As stated we’ll update each year, we can’t now as it’ll affect others ranks and there are 3 levels: Top 10, 25 and 50. Please accept our apologies for the oversight.

In the post, we do ask that other Muslim mom bloggers share their links so we can continue networking and helping one another, so I know people will review comments; inshaAllah.

So, Mubarak for your efforts and inshaAllah, you are at peace with the list and happiness for all those listed.

    Wa salam/In peace,
    Your sister in Islam Ponn

    [Reply]

    Hollie Pollard Reply:

so there will be no update again this year. Maybe next :(

    [Reply]

    Ponn Sabra Reply:

Sorry Hollie. As I shared it was an arduous task, so we plan to make it an annual award, like other blog lists and award. InshaAllah, by making it annual it’s worth anticipating and working for; or in your case making sure you’re on our (my interns & virtual staff) radar. ;-)

We have many other cool lists and awards rolling out in the upcoming months, so make sure we have all your other social media contacts too!

  15. This is an honor to be added in your list. I was really surprised to have made it.

I want to add for the past many years I’ve been Blogging I have visited many of these Blogger’s sites and have always loved reading about their lives.
When I read their name and their rankings it makes me really proud of their accomplishments as women and as Muslims.

    Bismillaah

    As Salaamu Alaikum dear sis

May Allaah bless you and your family Aameen

I have a question, or two, or three lol. I was thinking about moving my blog to wordpress. Is this possible? If so will I lose my post/followers. How does moving the blog affects the ranking system? And is it easy to transfer data to wordpress from blogger? Please let me know what you think. Baraka’Allaahu’Feekum for reading :)

    [Reply]

    Ponn Sabra Reply:

    Wa-alaykum asalam.

    Ameen.

And, Mubarak for making the list.

    1. Yes, Move to WordPress now! For MANY reasons that I have a post coming up soon, inshaAllah.

    2. You will not lose anything. A. Backup everything. B. If you can’t do it. Outsource. If you need recommendations, my 1st one is my designers and developers UmmahDesigns, and tell them I sent you. If you need other names I have a bunch of reputable and most importantly, knowledgeable who can get the job done.

    3. I moved all my bloggers to WP years ago and it was literally pressing buttons, easy.

    4. Oh, I just saw you’re on blogspot, freebie. I highly recommend registering for domain all at once to WordPress and host. Yes, you will lose rank that’s the biggest problem with freebie sites, but with great SEO of WordPress, it’s rather easy to continue with your normal blogging habits and regain speed/ranks. But, I teach many ways to improve it as well. Either way, moving to WordPress is your most precious online biz move necessary; so don’t worry about the rank, make the move fast now so you have a year to work on your rank and even increasing it with some work and guidance that if you just start searching my blog for tips, as well as stay posted, I’m here to help!

    [Reply]

    Umm Suhailah Reply:

    As Salaamu Alaikum

Wow you move fast lol! I just learned about this webpage and I’m looking forward to visiting your archives and benefiting much Inshaa’Allaah.

Baraka’Allaahu’Feekum for answering my question(s). I’ve been looking at wordpress sites…..trying to see what I can do with all my options. Still learning how to use blogger lol!!! So I’m just making sure I am able to work with WordPress. Shukran :)

    [Reply]

    Ponn Sabra Reply:

    Wa-alaykum asalam.

If you’re still in the learning process, WordPress is more intuitive, so give up blogger now and make the jump.

Alhumdulilah, I’m here for you, inshaAllah.

  34. Assalamu alaikum:
    A Alexa Tip!
Those who want to obtain a lower Alexa Rank (Global or USA) can easily do so by simply downloading the Alexa Tool bar (Free) and start to visit your site each day. You will in a month see about a 25% reduction in your rank. Try it! I am sure sites like this one will show an even better rank in just 30 days if they are not already using the toolbar.
Some say the Alexa is very inaccurate information but my feeling is that IF advertisers use it as a means to gauge how effective an investment will be then it HAS to have some interest to the website owner to try their best to achieve their lowest rank.
Don’t be too concerned if you see it bounce in the wrong direction as this means it will within the next few days reach an all time lower rank. Unless things change with Alexa, this does work for now!
And if any Muslims like this and want to do a link exchange please feel free to contact me.
    Jazak Allah Khair. :)
