Muslim Kids Video – Surah Al-Fatihah by Shaikh Fahd Al-Kanderi

MashaAllah (God has willed), Shaikh Fahd Al-Kanderi from Saudi Arabia is one our family’s most beloved Qur’an reciters. When our 8 year old was asked last year, “Who’s your favorite Qur’an reciter?”, she immediately answered “My Baba”, mashaAllah. As you can imagine, I was all teary-eyed, while all the adults in the room chorused with “MashaAllah”. When asked about a particular shaikh like Shaikh AbdulBasit, whom all the Arab kids in the room choose, our daughter yelled “Shaikh AlKanderi!”

At our home, you’d either hear my husband’s unique and gorgeous Surah Al-Fatiha, or my girls and I reciting the surah following Shaikh Al-Kanderi as he recites beautifully while leading jummah prayer in this video. We also like this video because it has the Arabic and English translation subtitles.

Subhanallah, my husband witness this Shaikh while at Hajj and Umrah and said it’s one of his most powerful experiences! People rush to Majid AlHaram when he leads prayer, as everyone submits themselves humbly to Allah (subhanallah wa’Tala) in His house (the Kaabah) and feels the strength of His powerful words recited so beautifully.

May Allah reward him handsomely in this dunya and the akhira. Ameen.

You may also find his recitations online with spellings of his name as: Kandery, Kanderi, of AlKandery.

Muslim Kids Video – The Heart of the Qur’an – Surah Yaseen

This one video always causes me to cry. MashaAllah, God has willed, this gift of truly touching our hearts by reciting the heart of our Glorious Qur’an – Surah Yaseen. He recites the first 12 ayats (verses). While he’s a teenager now, he still has this beautiful voice has he shares an incredible recitation of Allah’s words. May Allah bless him handsomely in this dunya the akhira. Ameen.

1Ya-Sin. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Qur'an, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings].
2 By the Qur’an, full of wisdom (i.e. full of laws, evidence, and proofs),
3 Truly, you (O Muhammad-salalahi wa layhi wa salam) are one of the Messengers,
4 On the Straight Path (i.e. on Allah’s religion of Islamic Monotheism).
5 (This is a Revelation) sent down by the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful,
6 In order that you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, so they are heedless.
7 Indeed the Word (of punishment) has proved true against most of them, so they will not believe.
8 Verily We have put on their necks iron collars reaching to the chins, so that their heads are raised up.
9 And We have put a barrier before them, and a barrier behind them, and We have covered them up, so that they cannot see.
10 It is the same to them whether you warn them or you warn them not, they will not believe.
11 You can only warn him who follows the Reminder (the Qur’an), and fears the Most Gracious (Allah) unseen. Bear you to such one the glad tidings of forgiveness, and a generous reward (i.e. Paradise).
12 Verily, We give life to the dead, and We record that which they send before (them), and their traces and all things We have recorded with numbers (as a record) in a Clear Book.

Muslim Kids Video – Lion of Ain Jaloot

We’re so excited to share this free download of “Lion of Ain Jaloot” available from Archive.org. This is one of the most inspirational Islamic children’s animated movies that every Muslim child (and adult) should watch. If you haven’t seen it yet, we believe you will love it since we watched it at least a dozen times over the past few years of owning the DVD.

Our youngest even has her roller-backpack of “Lion of Ain Jaloot”. :-)

Seiffunddin Qutoz was born a prince, orphaned and sold into slavery with his cousin, earned his freedom at adulthood, and died as one of Islam’s greatest rulers who defeated the Mongols in honor of Islam and our beloved Allah (May He be Glorified).

Please share your review of this movie with us in the comments section below! If you have an Islamic movie video or nasheed you’d like to share, please let us know about it by clicking here.

Calling All Muslim Kids: Publish Your Work, Views and Jokes!

Although we requested contributions from Muslim Kids since the launch of the new site in July 2009, we didn’t have the necessary system or support in place to actively solicit submissions or publish regularly. Alhumdulilah (Praise be to God), we are presently prepared to compile and publish work by Muslim Kids for Muslim Kids on a regular basis. Alhumdulilah, we have over 2 dozen Muslim Kids Islamic Book Reviews yet to post from our 1st Annual Summer Islamic Reading Program. Subhanallah (Glory be to God), with 3 months until our next kick-off, we feel it’s perfect timing to post them now, inshaAllah, to get all our Muslim Kids excited for the upcoming program. ;-)

  • Do you love reading books? But, enjoy telling all your friends why he or she should read it even more!? We’ll, that’s called a book review.
  • Book reviews are unlike book reports. Professional writers believe that writing book reviews is an ideal way for children to enjoy and improve their writing skills, because it’s an easy, fun, creative and rewarding writing exercise.
  • You can even narrate your review to your parents. But, narration is meant for kids too young to write all their great thoughts and opinions down on paper. ;-)
  • So, if you are ready to recommend your favorite book(s), please complete this form.

Muslim Kids Video – Don’t be a Showoff

We must pray only for the sake of worshiping Allah and for no other reason. This lesson explained in Surah Maun (Alms Giving) in the Qur’an is the reason we chose today’s funny Muslim Kids Video.
Surah Maun (Alms Giving) 107

  1. Have you seen him who denies the Recompense?
  2. That is he who repulses the orphan (harshly),
  3. And urges not on the feeding of Al-Miskin (the poor),
  4. So woe unto those performers of Salat (prayers) (hypocrites)
  5. Those who delay their Salat (prayer from their stated fixed times).
  6. Those who do good deeds only to be seen (of men),
  7. And prevent Al-Ma’un (small kindnesses like salt, sugar, water).

Please help us showcase the best nasheed and Muslim Kids videos available on the web every Sunday. So, please leave a comment below with your favorite link and check back each week to see when we post it!
