Review & Giveaway: Eid Creations Decorations and Paper Goods. 3 Winners! Wholesale Prices Ideal for Large Iftars ($12.50 Value)

| August 9, 2012 | Comments (20)

Gold Crescent Paper Goods SetWe’re so happy to introduce to you another Eid Gift Guide sponsor, Eid Creations by sister Rana. Sister Rana is a Muslim mom on a mission to make Islamic holiday decorations and paper goods accessible to all children here in the U.S. As an Event Coordinator, sister Rana faced many years of making handmade items for masjid iftars, Islamic school events, etc. (haven’t we all?). So, this year she became a Muslim business owner, though admittedly that wasn’t her attention. She decided to take a small profit margin and become a wholesaler though, Masha’Allah. This is sister Rana’s first Ramadan and Eid season, and SubhanAllah, she’s already stocked in a number of ethnic stores throughout Orange County and The Valley (San Fernando Valley where I live now).

SubhanAllah, we’re practically neighbors. So close in fact that one of her sales reps delivered boxes of decorations for our masjid iftars. [That experience we'll keep for another post, Insha'Allah.] Insha’Allah, we look forward to meeting during some Eid celebrations with our household of three girls each.

Anyways, we’re very pleased with Eid Creations Islamic Decorations and Paper Goods.

Simple Islamic Designs that Cross Other Faiths

Saffron Road Samosas on Eid Creations Dinnerware

First, they are so simple and elegant. If you’ve spent any time on my blog, you’ll know I’m all about simplicity. Less is more. So, Eid Creations’ designs are just festive enough to say “Islam” in our unique way. However, my non-Muslim family who loves crescents and moons (regardless that I’m Muslim) say they’d use them even if they were not with me for Eid or Ramadan.

Durable, Quality Paper Ware

The quality of her plates are sharp! The plate sizes are bigger than normal, affording more room for a hearty meal. They held up sauces nicely, while the napkins were just the right size. Not too big that the conservative mom that I am, would say, “Wait, split in half–you don’t need that much,” yet, not too small that you’d grab another one “just in case.”

Creative Designer and Owner

For her first season, sister Rana offers enough fun and elegant themes to choose from. However, she shares that she’s just begun. Check out the two Giveaway Gifts to give you a taste of her work.

  1. Eid Mubarak Set
  2. Gold Crescent-Moon Set

It was actually hard to pick which set we wanted. One really wanted the farnoose set. However, majority ruled and the gold crescent moon was chosen because  we really wanted the matching balloon which was great for Ramadan, and can be used for other occasions not just Ramadan or Eid, Insha’Allah. Nonetheless, we all LOVE the Eid Mubarak set, since the color blend is so nice and we’ve always liked text used creatively like that. There are always more Eids, right? ;-)

Suggestions to Make a Community Iftar Memorable

Eid Creations Balloon BouquetSister Rana suggests for the balloon, to include two stars (one gold and one silver), and a few latex gold and silver and one transparent balloon with designs which could be found at a party store. The balloon bouquet will add more pizzaz and will definitely turn the iftar into a feast!

As Salaam Alaikum!! I would love the Eid Mubarak Set I love how colorful it is. I would use this set to have a eid celebration with my girl scout troop, it would be a great way to celebrate with them after they finish working on their Ramadan Patch. I would gladly take either of the sets. Thanks!

Yes, this set has just enough color that its still tasteful and joyful…not tacky or overdone.

If you have a whole girl scout troop to celebrate with, I’d encourage them to help you enter these daily contests creatively and actively to show your interest more in winning, insha Allah!

My girls and I had fun designing them, please enjoy entering them, insha Allah.

    Assalamu Alaikum,

I would be ecstatic if I won the Eid Mubarak set. The design is so colorful and is beautiful in Arabic and English. This set could help us start a new tradition for Eid every year where my son can be proud of his religion and holiday (instead of wishing we celebrated Christmas because of all decorations seen everywhere in the USA). I also just bought pink and blue striped straws that match the color of this design. The Eid Mubarak set would be a great addition to the straws for my upcoming Eid party. If I won the set, I would share my festive dinner table pictures with you and Rana at Eid Creations, however I would appreciate whichever set I won because it would add to my Eid decorations.

Adorable. How old is your son?
Subhan Allah, ever since my girls were born, I made up all my own traditions being the only Muslim in my family and never once have any of them ever wished, hoped or even marveled at anything except Ramadan and our Eids. So, I totally agree that making our festivals our own, gives them the ownership and pride in being Muslim where they’re not missing anything, but more importantly they are doing exactly what Allah subhan Allahu wa Ta’ala wanted of them to celebrate twice a year; not of the kufar, insha Allah Ta’ala.

And, jazaka Allahu Khayrun for the offer to share your pictures with us and Rana, that and knowing you’d accept either package is great news!

    Salaam,

My son, Saif is 6 years old. I remember him telling me at 3 years old that he loved the Christmas lights. Since then, I have been trying adding my own decorations for the month of Ramadan. I think it is very important to not only teach our children Islam, but to also show them the beauty and the celebration that comes with Ramadan and Eid. I was born and raised here in the U.S. and as a little girl (and growing up_, I wished that my family could celebrate Christmas. I do not want my son to feel that way for the rest of his childhood and InshaAllah everyday he is more proud to be a Muslim but I want to make sure I give him the festivities he deserves as a Muslim child. It is great to hear that you have been doing the same for your daughters!

I would love the Eid Mubarak set. The colours and type make it so fun but have a look that all will love if they were served on those this Eid.

If I won the other set, I would still be happy!
I plan on taking them to my sister’s who is hosting Eid. I know she’d love them.

    Asalamualaykum!
I am so excited about these eid mubarak/moon and star party supplies! It is so awesome to see Muslim moms actually follow through with amazing ideas like this one. My kids and nieces and nephews will be so excited with all these Eid party supplies, adding to new Ramadan string lights we put up this year. It is so important for Muslim kids to appreciate our holidays and enjoy themselves with family and friends. We have been making hand-made posters and decorations for Ramadana and Eid, but these commercial products will be the higlight of our Eid day! These decorations will surely add to the festive feeling of Eid- I can just see the smiles on all the kids’ faces! We would be elated to win either one of the designs!

    Ponn Sabra Reply:

    Wa-alaykum asalam dear Asra.
I can feel the excitement, appreciation, and joy already! Ramadan Mubarak to you and your extended family–the celebrations in your hearts are already felt–the most important thing of our celebrating our season!

    [Reply]

    Asra Reply:

Ramadan mubarak to you, too! We try to make Eid special for our kids, because as a second generation Muslim in America, Eid wasn’t so fun for us, unfortunately. We DID get to meet with our cousins, which was so very nice, but other than that, it didn’t really feel “special,” they way Christmas is portrayed on television. I realize that it is important not to start to commercialize our holidays, as the kuffar do, but I think kids should really look forward to Eid and enjoy themselves as much as non-muslims do on their holidays, if not more.

    Ponn Sabra Reply:

Subhan Allah, sadly to report all my native Muslims first-generation moms, like you, had the same experiences growing up. But, some chose to continue in that awful path, and others like yourself chose to make a difference for your kids. We can’t change the past, or our memories, but we can change our present and make them memorable! By the way, how many kids will there be?
