Review & Giveaway Contest: Hygienna Portable Bidets ($50 Value)
Highly-Practical, Innovative, Fun, Inexpensive Very Muslim-y Ramadan or Eid Present
Fast delivery, even though coming from Canada. Easy, convenient, cheap! Over the years, our engineer (hubby) has made our own bidets, or we bought them from overseas. We also had the notorious watering cans or item of last resort: the “right” sized cup. Having just moved, we haven’t installed our bidets yet and can find someone angrily yell “WHO took the cup now!?” when it’s a bit too late…So, the opportunity to work with Hygienna couldn’t have come at a better time.
What a funny and unusual package we were all waiting for!
When opened, we were all pleasantly surprised to see them individually wrapped in nice professional design.
We had so much fun, each getting our own to open, that the girls rushed to find water bottles in our recycling bin, fill them up and use it…hmm…kind of gives a GREAT incentive to potty training. Our youngest one did what you can imagine and yelled, “MY new water gun!” With hubby in his suit off to work, and me at the laptop…I had to kick her out of the house because I couldn’t let her see hubby and I laugh expressing that it was acceptable.
To single the only man in the house, we got him teal and us all pink; however one said, “I wanted teal.”
Anyways, it works like a charm.
I shared my recommendations for a nice purse-size (girly), pocket-size (for the dudes) carry-pack for easy, clean portability. We travel a lot during our hectic work/homeschool schedule. Here’s Hygienna’s reply:
“We do plan on introducing more products such as a personalized bottle and a pouch, Insha’Allah.”
As a start up company with great potential, we ask that you keep them in your du’a as we are.
So, here’s my classy alternative. It’s a makeup/nail clipper case. Who would ever envision what’s in there, huh?

By the way, if you don’t know, we’re really into cool logos, and if you look carefully at Hygienna’s logo–it’s SO classic! Don’t you agree? We tried to capture the idea in the picture on the left for you. LOL!

So, tell us which colors you’d like (5 portable bidets to the winner). Who would you gift them to this Ramadan or Eid? Any funny stories you think will happen if this package arrives at your door? Most creative comment wins! We do account more points for more additional comments.

Hi, I think this is a great idea, I want to continue the tradition if cleanliness and teach my children the same. It becomes difficult as we travel. Further as the girls grow older it becomes harder to blend in our cultural values with the ‘is it cool for me’ factor that embraces the American culture. This would be a great tool to bridge that gap!
Thanks!

I can’t stress how much we love these inventions! Yes, great for our girls during sensitive age–however, tween, teen, twenties-boys/men need to be extra cautious too.
Please reply with what colors you like, who’d you gift to, etc. To complete your full entry. Also, any additional actions/entries only show how much you want to win this prize, insha Allah Ta’ala.

Masha’Allah I am so glad to see this review! I was just eye-balling these online the other day but wasn’t so sure about them, without an actual review. Online shopping has spoiled me! But this would be such a great way for a convert like me to ease into “Islamic bathroom habits.” As a little funny, I was laughing with another convert recently about how all of the “aunties” have taken us each aside to privately impress upon us the importance of a bidet now that we are Muslims. It’s so funny because of the urgency with which they all speak, and how they all think they are the only ones relaying this information
Sisters in Islam *really* take care of each other haha!
In any case, thank you for another great review!

Masha Allah, and Jazaka Allahu Khayrun. I totally agree–I never buy until I read a few or at least one thorough, trusted review of products these days.
And, I’m totally LOL! Hah! Hee hee
Ya Rabb, May Allah continue to guide you and your girlfriend with the beauty and purity of Islam. Ameen!
Mubarak! I always feel a sense of Allah’s grandeur when introduced to new reverts, like me. BTW, I’m such a stickler with revert over convert, because we reverted and returned to the natural state of worship to the One True God, Allah.
If you ever need ANYTHING, I’m an email away, insah Allah.
BTW, as noted to the above commenter,
Please reply with what colors you like, who’d you gift to, etc. To complete your full entry. Also, any additional actions/entries only show how much you want to win this prize, insha Allah Ta’ala.

This is awesome! its so awkward to get cleaned while on the go. So far our solution is to carry an empty water bottle or if we’ve forgotten to hold it until we get home!
WHO: I’d give it to my husband who is very particular about being clean while he is in the office and traveling. One for myself, one for my potty trained toddler and another as an incentive for my 22 month to potty train. The last one I’d give to a close friend as this would make it easier for her and her MS diagnosis.
COLORS: I would get 3 teals and 2pinks.
If its discreet no one will tell but a quick glance it sorta looks like it belongs in adult entertainment so that would be awkward to explain to the mailman as I get my package in full niqab gear.

LOL!!! HAA Hah! Hee Hee. Funny, Funny!
Well, the packages will be IN a box, so the mailman won’t even see the “private” gifts.
BTW, my hubby is exactly the same way!
My entire family was all the latter…”Ooo ooo….I can’t hold it anymore…yes, I can, yes, you can…” However, we were in the Mojave Dessert for 12 hours last Saturday and my handy-Hygienna was our life saver, in the public bathroom and even once in the rest area bathroom.

InshaAllah, with the extension in the contest, we’ll see how many more entries you can get in and comments to express your family’s interest and creativity in Hygienna solo!

This item is great! I am so glad you did a review for it as well. I, too, like to read reviews before buying a product and I’ll probably purchase these as gifts in the future since they are practical, a good product and resonable in price. I love your idea of placing it in a nail/makeup bag, mashaAllah very good idea sister Ponn.
Our family, always wash with the water bottle when we are out, but it’s certainly a challenge to say the least, especially with kids.
I can’t think of a funny story with the arrival of an item like this, but I do have a funny story about my son when he was younger. Once day, I asked him if he “washed” himself after using the restroom at school. I always told him to bring a cup or water bottle with him to do so. He told me he couldn’t find one but he did wash himself. I wasn’t sure how, but he was happy to share he used the toilet water after he flushed to “wash” himself. I was soooo grossed out, yet proud he wanted to make sure he was clean. We had a whole other conversation about tiolet water after that
If I won would get 4 teals and 1 pink.
I’d give one to the hubby, one to the tween son, my mother, and my brother and of course myself.

Yep, tween and a whole other piles of stories with that, lol! I, also, have an 18 month old boy who is used to us washing him after a diaper change. I have yet to do it in public though. I can’t imaging what people might think if they see me washing my little man’s butt in the sink of a public bathroom, hee hee :-S
The joys of raising boys….can’t live with them can’t live without them, love ‘em either way

Love this idea! when i saw it on a friend’s page, i went euphoric. I hate to get all messy with water everywhere during taharah, this would def be so easy to use inshA! I hate public washrooms
jazakallah kahir so much! i’d buy pink for me, and blue for hubby inshA
would love a purple too

Wa-alaykum asalam dear Maryam,
So, are you custom ordering blue & purple!? LOL. Subhan Allah, Hygiennia is having a blast with all your comments and your stumble suggestions in next colors.
“Euphoric”?
hee hee.
Definitely our funniest contest EVER!
[Reply]
Why didn’t I think of this idea? What a great idea, you seriously have no idea how happy I am about this!
I am a mom to two boys…need I say more. Boys are dirty and like to touch everything especially in public washrooms! This will not only keep their bottoms clean but help rinse their hands before we get to the sink!
My 5 year old always has to go #2 when we are out. We plan all day outings after he has gone but with no fail, he always will announce he has to go. Do you know how hard it is to deal with this in a public bathroom….this product was made for us!
If I won, I would keep one pink one for myself. Give another pink to MIL and another to my mom. And keep two teal ones for my hubby and sons!

I saw these at RIS but didn’t get one because it felt embarrassing? I guess by mail would be better. Only 5 eh? That’s hard because I have 10 kids. I have 5 boys and 5 girls so some teal and some pink.

Wa-alaykum asalam.
RIS?
MashaAllah, to your family!
Yeah, this fighting by one possessive girl in the family. But, we have 1 in each of 3 bathrooms, one in my purse and the 5th one she brings around ONLY for her. After all, it’s a cleansing tool to be used by all, not something that should be getting dirty itself by its one owner…I’m keep explaining this to my daughter.
Did we ever take out our bidet from the toilet just for You!? No, we all used the same 1 bidet.

RIS stands for Reviving the Islamic Spirit. Its a huge conference in Toronto at Christmas time; last year there were 20,000 people. Why don’t you come this year?
[Reply]
Oh I forgot to say why they would be useful. Well with all my kids going to public school of course there are no options for them in the bathroom
And we live in a place with hardly any Muslims so this would be more discreet at the level of understanding here would be 0.

Asalaam ‘Alaikum,
We have 4 kiddos – and me (Mom) who would love to use these. We still have yet to find something that works for us when outside the house. With young ones – especially the girls, it seems – as soon as they visit a different store they have to visit the bathroom!
I usually make everyone go “potty” just before leaving the house whenever we go out. Without fail, five minutes after we get to the back of the store (passing, of course – the front of the store where the bathrooms are) and my youngest always seems to yell “I have to go to the bathroom really bad! It’s going to come out RIGHT NOW!” Yes, there is no warning – no tottering from one foot to the other or the every favorite crossing the legs while walking – just those two sentences. If I don’t move fast enough – we could be in trouble! I can’t even explain to you how fast we have to run to the front of the store – and being a Muslim, that always raises eyebrows.
Seeing as we are always in a hurry to get to the bathroom – once we are in the stall together – they always reminds me to go back out and wet some paper towels for them. It wouldn’t be so bad, but try slipping discreetly out of the stall while someone is already sitting down!
The nice thing about this product – is that I could easily slip a water bottle discreetly into our diaper bag. That would be awesome!
As for colors – 4 pink and 1 teal would work for us – if we are the winners, of course.
Regardless if we win or not, thanks so much for letting us know about this wonderful product.
Thanks, Sumayyah Umm SAAK

I believe your little ones are years behind mine, right?
Because, that ALWAYS happened for me.
I LOVE the Family bathrooms or the Handicap which actually has the sink in the big stalls; just for the very reason you explained…only to slip out the door to hear the next yell “MOM!!! The door!” urgh.
Insha Allah, these ingenious inventions are so economical, it’s totally a must-have for all Muslims, wouldn’t you agree?

Yes – most of them are younger. We love those family bathrooms but don’t always find one where we are. I really think this is a great idea – and every Muslim should have one, insha’Allah.
