Review: Allah Made The World Application for iPhone

| June 16, 2011 | Comments (14)

I was visiting my family last week in Ohio and downloaded Allah Made the World, created by Suzanne Muir, on my generous mother’s iPhone 4. It would not download on my iPhone 3GS because I had to update my software and that seemed like a rather arduous task at the time.

I sat in a corner browsing the storybook application with its fun tunes and my family members looked at me oddly while I was smiling and turning the vibrant animated page. I gave it to mother to try and she thought it was awesome! So we both sat there playing around with it (yes, I am a graduate student).

It was a fun and cute story and was even more interesting as I put myself in the shoes of a 5 year old child.

What is great also is that it can be read by all children regardless of their religion, culture and race because of its simplicity and diversity.

It is easy to navigate and I am sure kids will not have problems turning the pages with the movement of their finger on the screen. It is colorful, engaging and educational all at the same time.

The downfall was I had hope there were more pages to read!

I would have also wished the font would be slightly bigger especially for the younger kids, but iPhones in general are small.

This would be wonderful on an iPad because of the larger screen. The application can bought on iTunes for $1.99. Must have for kids age 1-6!

  5. Assalaamu alaikum.

SubhanAllah…it is truly awesome how Allah has created us all, and created this world for servicing and helping us to get by. I mean..the more I contemplate on it…the more flabergasted I am…and truly I get speechless in trying to express my true feelings about it all.

This app, this interactive story, Allah Made the World…sounds truly awesome as well…and I hope to be able to view it someday. I have an iphone and an ipad…but have trouble getting paid apps…because of my location in Saudi Arabia. They don’t always give us chance here to download all the apps that are available elsewhere. Things are many times blocked out from our reach in the Saudi app store.

I have grandchildren who love to explore my iphone and ipad…in fact when they come to visit me…I seldom get chance to use my own iphone or ipad…cause they are busy playing around with it, investigating the apps that are there. I love to try to encourage them to read…and was thinking…that with an app like this…it will help them enjoy exploring English more!!

May Allah bless the sister who put this story/app together…wish that I knew how to do that also. Truly awesome.

    Balqees Mohammed.

Assalaamu alaikum waramayulahi wabarakatu I never even knew it existed until a mom mentioned it on my page! I came to update my biweekly reading here (Which I really need to come and read a lot more often than that!)and saw this great review.

The colors look so vibrant and and the story looks very informative. I would love for my daughter and me to “play” on my phone with this versus other apps as this one is About Allah and from Muslims for Muslims. I would love an opportunity to win this download if it available in an android app. Just saw the date so I will just download it on my own if they have it for Android InshaAllah.

I think these give aways you do are great

  8. With havin so much content do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright violation? My website has a lot of unique content I’ve either written myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my authorization. Do you know any techniques to help stop content from being ripped off? I’d certainly appreciate it.

  12. I’m impressed, I have to say. Really hardly ever do I encounter a weblog that’s each educative and entertaining, and let me inform you, you could have hit the nail on the head. Your concept is excellent; the difficulty is one thing that not sufficient people are speaking intelligently about. I’m very pleased that I stumbled throughout this in my search for one thing regarding this.

    Salamu alaikum,
It’s 2012 and this app is still useful not because of the subject it deals with but how it is put together. As a parent I live everyday answering questions of my 7 and 6 year olds. But typically they started out with me informing the and now with this app they can also imagine and play with the ideas in their own personalized way.
Drawbacks, the interface is crammed with links out of the product. These could be put nicely somewhere because at the moment they are a distraction to my kids who like me will click on anything clickable just to see what happens.
All in all this app is useful and could do with activities than links to keep those sharp ones from cutting themselves
