Here’s full update for tomorrow’s incredible event:
1. UNLIMITED LUNCH:
As of Friday, there were over 130 registered, therefore there is unlimited lunch hour.
2. IT IS A PRIVATE HOMESCHOOL EVENT:
This homeschool event is NOT promoted publicly on their website, passed on on flyers, etc. It was only privately promoted through homeschool channels such as myself, my blog, and others. Therefore, while it is a homeschool event, if a non-homeschooling family (such as stay at home moms of babies, preschoolers, etc.) or extended family and friends of homeschoolers choose to register they may participate. They are not checking for “homeschool id”. Having said that, Quassy nor I want anyone to abuse this opportunity, so please use your descrition otherwise, we will not be able to create better suitable homeschool events in the future.
3. LAST DAY TO REGISTER FOR TICKETS. FULL-PRICE AT THE DOOR!
Since Quassy Park is open today, Sunday, you can still call and register for this fantastic price.
We are getting discounted all rides, water park and beach tickets, plus parking, unlimited lunch hour, and specialized homeschool events only if you register for tickets BEFORE the event! Since the organizers will be working at the sessions (which are pre-registered), there is no way to give homeschooler event rates at the door. If you decide to join us tomorrow, you rates are normal:
HOMESCHOOLER RATES:
Kids: $17.50 Adults: $7.50
REGULAR “DOOR” RATES:
Kids (all rides & waterpark): $18.00 Adults: (all rides & waterpark) $22!
All day parking: $5.00 car
Food: ??
Fun, educational, private homeschool programs for all grades: ?
4. LOOKING FOR HIGH SCHOOL HOMESCHOOLERS:
There are only 3 high school students registered for the Journalism class. So, please help spread the news.
5. DESIGN A RIDE CONTEST DETAILS
Please review the document shared on my blog. It’s NOT too late to “Design a Ride”…due to my family’s terribly busy schedule, we look forwrad to creating one today (thankfully it’s supposed to rain!). If you’re can’t create a model, a drawing is acceptable. But, please use colors and describe why you choose these colors. *Please* creatively think how to best use Physics, Fun & “Marketing” to attractive as many people to your new ride as possible. It’s expected that little kids and elementary kids will only come in with a unique drawing. So, you have plenty of time!
6. SCAVENGER HUNT: 2 HUNTS + YOU CAN HUNT IN TEAMS.
There will be different lists for elementary kids and middle school kids. Papa (Grandpa) and I may be spliting up our kids. Also, we can hunt in teams, so we’d love to “hunt” around with interested kids. This will be a fun educational age-appropriate scavenger hunt, seeking out science and “marketing” items in an amusement park.
7. DON’T FORGET TO COMMENT ON MY BLOG
If you registered, please comment h
ere.
We are registered for the “Design the Ride” contest, Scavenger Hunt, and lunch. Depending on time, I’m going to try to sit in on the Journalism class. Since it’s a long day, we’ll definitely check out the beach to relax for a bit. Since we’ve never had time for the water park, we’ll squeeze that in (or possibly stay a while) there too.
8. ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS & CONCERNS:
*Please* comment directly on my blog
here or on this post below. While I”m emailing over a dozen homeschool groups from different email addresses, this is the one place Quassy organizers and I can best monitor your concerns too to make sure we are prepared as much as possible.

It’s possible we may be rained out tomorrow. I spoke with someone there and she said she will call everyone which I am sure will take a long time. We can call or check the website. If you happen to find out early that it is cancelled due to weather would you mind shooting an email out to the group (the HS group not each person registered). I think the phone line may be clogged and just want to cover bases. I’d appreciate that. Thanks so much.
Sincerely,
Suzan

Hi Suzan,
Thanks for your comment & recommendations. Fortunately, it’ll be cloudy and sunny with a forecast of 76 degrees F today, which I think is perfect: Not too hot or cold, rainy or sunny! So, we’re open and on! Hope everyone enjoys the day.
