AlifArabic – Learning Another Language – A Kid’s View
My sisters and I have been almost bilingual our whole lives and now we’re testing and whizzing through the AlifArabic curriculum. Usually whizzing through something is super annoying, I’m pretty sure you know the feeling…but guess what!? Somehow, there’s not a dull or boring moment in our Arabic and Qur’an Classes. Surprised? I think I am too! How about reading what we (the kids as kids) think? Here’s what we think of both the Arabic and Qur’an classes we’ve been taking:
JuJu’s Thoughts:
- The teachers are calm, yet the most strict teachers I’ve ever had! – Awesome for me because I don’t feel like I’m being yelled at, yet perfect for my parents because they know I’m not playing around because both, the teachers and myself are squeezing as much into our 30 minute classes as possible.
- Like I mentioned above “we’re testing and whizzing through the AlifArabic curriculum” so, I know the definitions of the words and all that jazz…If you’re familiar with the Arabic language, you’d know that in Arabic, nouns come before adjectives unlike English where adjectives are placed before the nouns; if I told the teacher the meaning of Al-Bint Al-Hilwah means The Pretty Girl they’d tell me that I’m wrong by saying “No, no, no, it’s the girl the pretty“…I’d think in my mind “that’s not English”, and there low-level of the English language would just bug me! AlifArabics’ teachers are nothing like this, they teach the Arabic and English translation 100% correct and their warm tones allow them to teach it in a nice, kind and warm way!
- The teachers really work hard and want you to also work hard. They want to see you work, learn, read, review and memorize, all to your fullest potential!

I know, the graph doesn’t look so great…but, it does share GiGi’s thoughts!—that’s two of our thoughts and not a complaint yet! What will JoJo say? Hmmm…
So, How About JoJo?
Well, one thing is that she’s enjoying all her classes and the second thing is that she’s doing a gazillion times better! Well, maybe not “a gazillion”…
