Egg shells for fertilizer

I knew there had to be some practical use for all the egg shells than just throwing them away.

So, we sun-dry our week’s egg shells, crush them in the blender and have a nice fertilizer for our vegetable garden, thanks to Jack Rella’s Do it Yourself Garden Fertilizer article.

We tried the milk-water once too.

Overall, I have to say it worked beautifully for us. I used it for our garden bean seeds. Of the 3 seeds we planted: carrots, garden beans and cucumbers, only the garden beans grew and we delicious. Then, all the horrible summer rains took over, and gardening for the rest of the summer didn’t go well.

    Thanks for everyone’s input.
