Building Strength During Our Busy Breakfasts
I read some wonderful advice in passing about reading and reciting the Qur’an with your children during one’s busy mornings, while you’re dressing for school, eating, etc.
Well, I tried it for a few days but the busy-ness or busIness (both true descriptions) of breakfast, the tired eyes, and heavy heads did not allow us to enjoy the peace we typically get while reading and reciting the Qur’an.
Insha’allah (God willing) you can try this piece of advise, but let us know how it works out for you…
However, a GREAT alternative that has lasted us now over 1-week is reading short childhood-Islamic stories and now aheedith during breakfast!
Alhumdulilah, we all wake up happily and eager to see what we can learn and apply in our days. We have careful, open discussions over what used-to-be our most dreadfully Rushed and annoying meals of the day. Annoying simply because we’d all rather be snugged in our beds then having to “start” the day.
