Announcing the Winners of Our Ramadan Giveaways!

We’re so pleased to announce the winners of our various contests from Ramadan! Thank you to everyone for participating! Winners, keep an eye out for an email from us so you can claim your prize, Insha’Allah.
Nasim World Natural Linens
Congratulations to the winner of our Nasim World Giveaway, Kenza! She wins because she discusses the importance of having her daughter’s skin “in contact with the most natural and softest material.” We think the bath set to be used each night would be most beneficial for all the entries to have, Insha’Allah.
Check out her comment:
Assalamu Alaykoum,
Where do you find those great products??? I have a 3-year-old, and it has always been very important to me to make sure her skin gets in contact with the most natural and softest material. I am sure I will become a good customer of Nasim World even if I don’t win the giveaway. Although I wish, Inchaallah, it will be “min al maktoub”
Little Ponn Soft Doll
We’re happy to congratulate UmmeHawwa, the winner of our Little Ponn Soft Doll Giveaway!
Here is her winning comment:
Bismillah
Little Ponn is the innocence itself that needs to be cherished and nourished in every little girl’s life. It would be a waste of my time to discuss the problem in our communities: the loss of innocence in our children. It is high time that we clear the book shelves in little girls’ rooms of Bratz and Barbies and stock them with positive imagery.
I would love to gift Little Ponn to my niece and end the trend of giving Barbies in the family. Most people want alternatives but they do not know where to look. I want to gain that Sadqah Jariah for introducing it in the family. I pray that it becomes a family tradition to gift a Little Ponn doll to every little girl on her 1st Eid.
Mash’Allah, I totally agree–and would LOVE for this tradition and Sadaqah Jariah to occur too!
Handmade Boys Prayer Rugs
Congratulations to Faith for winning the Handmade Boys Prayer Rugs Giveaway! She wins for her extra sensitive-to-the-touch son. May He continue to make his salah, on time each and every day. Ameen!
Faith’s winning comment:
I would love to have the longer handcrafted one for my 9-year-old son. I converted to Islam two years ago after his father died from cancer, and I have been trying to encourage him to start to pray and follow the rules of Islam. If he had a prayer rug of his own to pray with me then I feel he would be more willing to pray as he tells me the feeling of the rug I have him praying on is too rough. He has a sensory issue where his nerves are extra sensitive to touches and he prefers soft things over rough stuff. So when he gets on the prayer rug I have, he says it hurts him. But I need him to start to follow Islam and I really think this would help him.
Fulla Doll Boutique Set
Another terribly difficult decision, but Sarah won a green hijab Fulla doll for her 5-year-old sister. Masha’Allah, green for the Rasul, salallahu alayhi wa salam. Using Fulla in kindergarten class for show & tell while making dawaa…and most of all the selfless act of a very special older Muslimah sister, Sarah, thinking of her little sister during our blessed month of Ramadan and gifting her for our Eid. MashaAllah Sarah as a beloved role model to her younger sister! Sarah also worked very hard showing us her interest in this contest by following the American Muslim Mom brand on multiple social media sites.
Read Sarah’s winning comment:
Salam Sister!
OMG! I saw this and was overjoyed and thought this will make a perfect eid gift for my little sister who is 5. I do not want to show this to her yet. If I win I want it to be a surprise! My sister loves playing with her Barbies, brushing their hair and dressing them up and she would love this! The only problem with the Barbies is they have no undergarments and they are not dressed modestly majority of the time and I want my sister to learn the importance of modesty hayaa. I want her to learn good Islamic values even while she is playing! I want her to be inspired to dress like the doll and be strong and confident in her faith. I want her to know that you can dress modestly and still look fashionable. I do not want her to be influenced by American dolls. This doll is uber cute! And I like how the hijab can be taken off so my sister can still brush the doll’s hair! Also, being dressed modestly, the doll can be used as an example for American manufacturers to make Muslimah dolls too. Also, my sister will be starting kindergarten in the fall so this will be a good form of Da’waa if she takes the doll to school. It will show she is proud of her religion!
Recently, My sister told me her favorite color is green because it was the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) favorite color and she wants to be just like him and do everything he did! When she told me, I was like “Aww Mashallah!” Such a young age and already such love for our Beloved Rasul! So I think the green outfit doll will be perfect for her after her telling me this. I just love my sister so much! <3
Also, I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the giveaways! May ALLAH accept our fasts and duas in this blessed month and grant you all success in this life and the hereafter!
Ecoist Dove Chocolate Purse
At first it was hard to go through all the anwers and find one winner, then we laughed SO loudly at Andrea’s comment, because this is what happens to the girls’ Bazooka John comics in the gum wrappers:
I would love to get this because I have always wanted to save all my candy wrappers and try to make something out of it, but after a few days of eating a ridiculous amount of candy someone throws them all away and I have to start over again and again.
But, the final winner for causing louder laughter in our home and her highly creative poem gets her the Ecoist bag. Congratulations Nancy!
Dove Chocolate’s a delightful treat,
It’s so very yummy and wonderful to eat.
The Ecoist Bag helps save the Earth,
All the way from Cairo to Perth.
Carrying the Dove Bag lets me have chocolate each day,
With no excess calories to get in the way!
PureHearts Pearl Bracelet
Judy brought tears to my eyes…actually palpitations to my heart and now sobs choking me up because I’m losing my breath in her words. I tell my girls something similar to what she wrote, but NEVER did my words come out as eloquently as hers. I share the same about diamonds in the rough….deep within the mines. I SO want your daughter to wear this bracelet EVERY day and thank Allah for such a beloved, Muslim Mom! I love you both for the sake of Allah. Mubarak! I just tried to share with my girls what I wrote in reply to Judy, and I can’t even talk…still sobbing. All tears of joy, pride, and honor to be a servant of Allah, subhana Allah wa Ta’ala, and Him Alone! You can tell it’s Dhul-Hijjah…and I’m VERY emotional today–one-year ago I began my travels to our most beloved home on Earth: Mecca for Hajj. Hajj Mabror, Ya Rabb. Ameen!
Read Judy’s beautiful comment for the PureHearts Pearl Bracelet:
I would like to win this pearl bracelet for my daughter. She does wear hijab but it is hard for her, seeing school friends wearing all the “cool clothes.” I would give the bracelet to her and tell her to wear it as a reminder that, like the oyster, our outside coverings are meant to protect us from random dangers and that the most beautiful parts of us are always on the inside. I would tell her to be like the oyster, taking the irritants of life and secrete a coating of patience and prayer over them, which will ultimately transform her heart into the most beautiful of jewels, just like a pearl, InshaAllah.
Saffron Road Coupons
Read the comments from the five winners of this Saffron Road Coupons Giveaway!
Asra:
Assalamu alaykum. I have read about Saffron Road products on the internet over the last few months. However, I haven’t had the chance to try them. In the pictures, and by your description, I am sure my family will certainly enjoy them! My oldest daughter just started fasting this year, even though she is still very young. So to encourage her and show my appreciation of her faith and strength, I try to make a special treat for her on the days that she does fast, along with dates and fruits. I have been making the traditional samosas, but they don’t seem so special anymore. I am sure that she, and our whole family, will be excited to try these phyllo style appetizers for iftar!
Kristina:
As this is my son’s first Ramadan fasting all day for every day, we are at the mercy of a 13 year old’s cravings when it comes to Iftar foods and Suhoor.
We have had leftovers during Suhoor, and breakfast for Iftar this year. I think we would definitely enjoy the vegetable samosa appetizers, as they are always a take home item from the Indian Food Store in town.
Since our family is not only pork-free, but also 75% gluten free, I would definitely include the special treat of having the chicken tenders star front and center as a surprise dish. So many hours have passed trying to create our own gluten free chicken tenders, only to have them not be the same as the restaurant.
It is a blessing to have a quick and easy surprise dish in the wings available when the menu you’ve lovingly prepared all day does not seem appetizing to those who’ve been fasting.
Amnah:
Incorporating Saffron Road’s phyllos would probably be the easiest aspect of making iftar. The delicate pastries are light and crisp and the perfect match with a cream split pea soup. I would include long, thin white platters along my iftar platter with the phyllos nicely lined up. Just to add color and interest, I’d sprinkle just a tiny bit of chopped parsley along the tops of the phyllos.
Carolsue:
These make great Baklava and Spanakopita.
One for dessert, one for a main course or appetizer!
For another appetizer, I might also make stuffed mushrooms.
binte Abbas:
InshaAllah I would like to make Baklava, spinach and cheese traingles and a halal version of pigs in a blanket.
Many thanks to everyone for participating! We hope you remain active members of our online community Insha’Allah! Congratulations to our winners, and keep an eye out for an email from us!
