American Muslim Mom Debut Podcast

| February 2, 2011 | Comments (10)

Alhumdulilah rabbil alameen (Praise be to God, the Lord/Master of all things), the past six weeks have been truly exciting time preparing for major changes to occur here at American Muslim Mom. From concept to design (staying focused on tasks and milestones), I am so pleased to share with you the debut show of the American Muslim Mom Podcast.

In today’s show I share all the major changes we made to improve our brand to make it more representative of what we’ve grown to become as the #1 online blog community for American Muslim Moms.

Warning: it’s a bit of a slow start–the energizing Ponn you’re familiar with started to get more comfortable half-way through the show: so the middle and definitely the ending is something I believe is worth listening to. The truth is, I recorded this well passed 1am at night, for the silence of my home and the hectic days preparing for tomorrow. I joked on our Facebook page, that it took me half the show just to wake myself up.

MultiMediaVA

It has been an incredibly humbling experience working with Christina Lemmey of MultiMediaVA for helping make my podcast possible. From brainstorming how to find royalty-free nasheed (Islamic songs) or Islamic tunes (which we never found), to having Arabic-pronunciation lessons–Christina has been amazingly patient, professional, creative, upbeat, determined, open-minded, willing and definitely capable of producing our intro, extro and segue in a very Islamically-appropriate way.

There were 2 things that came to us completely by accident as she shared–and I shared that we’d say “Subhanallah/Glory be to God” for the perfection of timing, the perfection of the opportunities that have been destined to happend. This is where I’m so humbled, because I was given the opportunity to share the beauty of Islam so effortlessly like I do each and every day to my Muslim brothers and sisters, in addition to the vast majority of non-Muslims who cross my path daily. Subhanallah!

Do You Want To Try Podcasting?

Now, if you’re a Do-It-Yourselfer, Christina has a free ebook that shares how you can setup a podcast in 1-hour “Easy Podcast Setup”.

It tired my patience, just trying to get the recordings in, timing, script, etc.; that I couldn’t worry about it, so I’d rather delegate and be done with it.

Oh, and Christina even offered video tutorial to get my link on this page–so cool! So, If you are in need of audio or video production or assistance, I highly recommend hiring Christina. And, please tell her I sent you. ;-)

My girls

MashaAllah, God has willed, my girls are one two three of my biggest blessings in this life. It has been so much fun to involve them in the development to the American Muslim Mom brand; and as you listen to our debut show and future shows inshaAllah, you’ll hear the joy they feel in honoring us–Moms through their innocent and lovable voices, mashaAllah.

MashaAllah, I must give particular attention to my eldest, 10 year old daughter, who as the one to figure out how to best record our audio file. We tried the phone, cell phone, online directly to our audio program–and Subhanallah, Glory be to Allah, while working on our slideshow video (which is definitely one of our biggest highlights for tomorrow), she was able to record a voice, a movie without voice and a movie with voice over. It was the audio file that Christina was able to use just yesterday, because the quality was the best of all.

I look forward to your honest critique, comments and concerns. Please share what you thought of our new show below, and inshaAllah–please be gentle it’s only our first show. ;-) Have a suggestion of a great guest (is it you), or topic you’d like me to focus on; please let me know as well.
