American Muslim Mom – Focused on Faith, Family and Financial Freedom
To enlighten, educate, and empower Muslim Moms to take action in their lives.
AmericanMuslimMom.com is the #1 ranked online blog network and online community for Muslim Moms in the world. Articles, commentary, tips, tools, reviews, and contests are based on the Qur’an and Sunnah and designed to help Muslim moms raise the next generation of pious believers in Islam (Mu’minyn).
Ponn’s Personal Passion:
My goals and dreams are to be a devout servant of Allah (Muslim) deserving of the highest level in Heaven (furdose). To be an Ideal Muslim Mom, we must live according to the Qur’an and Sunnah which states that we must maintain our roles as
1. A loving, supportive wife and homemaker,
2. A caring and compassionate educator to our children, and
3. A wise manager of our wealth (money, properties and belongings).
The journey of life consists of constant education, reflection, and application of what was learned. As humble, mortal human beings, we are bound to make mistakes, yet fortunate to find some helpful lessons and tips along the way. As such, AmericanMuslimMom.com was created as a repository of findings and experiences of many practicing Muslim moms living in America and Americans living abroad, such as myself. We do not claim to be scholars, so we assure you errors will be evident. If you find errors or have insights to share, please kindly leave a comment, and accept our apologies if we wronged you in anyway.
May Allah subhanahallah wa T’ala (May God be Glorified) accept our efforts as ibadah (acts of worship), and forgive our sins. Ameen.
About Ponn Sabra
At 25 years old, Ponn completed her Masters in Public Health and became the youngest appointed public health official in the country. During her tenure, she was published twice with 100% acceptance rate with no revisions in the country’s most prestigious academic public health journal with the average acceptance rate of 17%. Once her first daughter was born, she took 4-months off and traveled cross-country to Mexico and throughout Canada. After returning to work for 2- months, she knew her heart was at home, so she left her profession to become a world-traveling homeschool mom.
Venturing online in 2005, Ponn became a bestselling author which led her to debut as a columnist for Entrepreneur Magazine’s Women Entrepreneur website. Presently, Ponn homeschools her 3 tech tweenpreneurs, and owns and manages over 2-dozen websites and niche blogs. Ponn has been featured in Associated Press, Chicago Tribune, FoxNews and other major media; and worked with CNN, Buick, Verizon and other household name brands. She takes her role in creating sadaqah jariyah (on-going charity) through the AmericanMuslimMom.com extremely seriously, and is humbled that it has grown to be the #1 ranked online community and blog network for Muslim Moms in the world — nearly 7-times the traffic of the #2 ranked site.
* Like many Muslims, Ponn chooses not to publicize her or her family’s pictures or images online for privacy, security and personal reasons. *
American Muslim Mom history
The opinions expressed within this site are not intended to be taken as spiritual advice, as I am not a trained Islamic scholar. Rather I am a humble servant of Allah, May He be Glorified, striving to seek His pleasure and forgiveness as I raise my family based on His words and the life of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace & blessings be upon him) to the best of my abilities. My experiences and education influence my opinion; therefore I encourage you to complete your own due diligence when making any spiritual decisions. I regularly seek counsel from Shaikhs, Imams, and educated and elder sisters and brothers versed in the Qur’an and Sunnah.
